Right now, our most urgent need is a generator to help us safely weather the winter months. When we lose power, we also lose access to our water pump, making it far more difficult to keep our residents properly hydrated during extreme cold.

The first $1,000 raised will go directly toward purchasing a generator, ensuring we can keep water flowing during outages. The remaining $3,000 will be used to add solar power to our coops and pens farther from the barn, helping provide warmth, light, and reliable access to water even when the grid goes down. Together, these upgrades will help ensure every resident stays safe, hydrated, and comfortable during winter storms and unexpected power losses.

Being a sanctuary means many of the animals who find their way to us arrive carrying more than just their stories. Some come underweight, battling mites or worms, nursing frostbite, injured legs or wings, or showing the quiet signs of long-term neglect. Others, like birds living with Marek’s, cannot safely return to a flock and require ongoing, specialized care.

At the moment, we rely on a small two-stall shed to temporarily house sick or injured residents while they heal. While it has helped in emergencies, it simply isn’t equipped to meet the level of care some of our animals truly need. That’s why we’re working to raise $5,000 for a dedicated Hospital & Isolation barn. This space will allow us to safely care for animals who need extra monitoring, warmth, treatment, and time before they can rejoin their herd or flock—or, in some cases, live out their lives in comfort and safety.

In 2026 ( or once the funds are available) we will be creating a NEW rabbit enclosure that will house up to 30 rescued rabits complete with temperature control and grassed outdoor runs for their enjoyment.

For those who are local, we are always happy to accept donations in the form of feed for our livestock, livestock guardian dogs, and barn cats. We also gladly accept building materials, tools, livestock supplies, gates, fencing, and non-saleable food or greens from farms, restaurants, or grocery stores.

If you’re interested in donating goods or materials, please contact us at farm@drunkenduck.org for more information.

We love gift cards! Our most helpful favorites come from Tractor Supply, Rural King, Chewy, Lowe’s, and Harbor Freight, as they go directly toward feed, supplies, repairs, and daily care for our residents. We also gratefully accept gift cards of any kind for future auctions, which help us raise additional funds to support the sanctuary and those who call it home. Digital gift cards can be sent directly to farm@drunkenduck.org.
